ABOUT HOLDEN
Holden William Hagelberger is a teen actor based in Houston, Texas. Holden loves to perform and actively trains in voice, dance and acting. He started performing at the age of 8, logging over 30 community theatre performances. His first professional job was a regional production of Matilda the Musical, in the role of Nigel, at The Public Theater of San Antonio. During the pandemic, he found an outlet to perform virtually, when he was cast in Kris Kringle the Musical, appearing as Kid Elf. In 2021, he relocated to New York City to make his NYC stage debut in the Off-Broadway production, Trevor the Musical, as the lead role, Trevor Nelson. The show closed early due to Covid but the cast secretly came together one last time to film the show. On June 24, 2022 Trevor: The Musical debuted on Disney Plus.
Holden received a Young Entertainer Award for Best Leading Young Actor for his role in Trevor the Musical.
Most recently, Holden has been performing at his high school theatre, Stratford Playhouse. He was recently nominated for a Tommy Tune award for his role as Scuttle in the Little Mermaid. The show received Best Show honors and Holden was recognized as the Jimmy Award Nominee Runner-up.
Holden is represented by Bonnie Shumofsky Bloom at Stewart Talent NYC. Holden is currently a senior in high school, with plans to pursue musical theatre in college.

“That message doesn’t come easy for the theater-loving, Diana Ross-worshipping Trevor (superb 13-year-old actor Holden William Hagelberger).”
“Hagelberger makes a commendable Off-Broadway debut as the show’s central character, exuding a natural, effervescent energy that appropriately diminishes as Trevor questions his identity amid school bullies.”
“‘Trevor: The Musical’ glimmers because of 13-year-old Holden William Hagelberger, who sparks a connection with the audience with his longing, the inexhaustible rushes of self-confidence, his comedic timing, and his anguish.”
“Hagelberger, who plays Trevor, is himself an example of perseverance and hard work in forging an individual path. Hagelberger is from Sugarland, Texas, far from New York City’s rich theater scene. He was cast in the role of Trevor in Trevor: The Musical following a long process that included a national virtual casting call, which received over 1300 submissions.”
“The talented young company is led by thirteen-year-old phenomenon Holden William Hagelberger, making his Off-Broadway debut in the titular role. He is thoroughly lovable and engaging, bringing both the laughs and concerns with sparkling enthusiasm and spot-on emotions through his prodigious acting and vocals, and hilarious moves.”
“Hagelberger, happily, is a plucky delight.”
“Between the virtual open call, agent and manager submissions, extensive outreach, and Casting’s vast files that have been expanding since the very first Trevor: The Musical workshop 6 years ago, we probably saw close to 2000 kids for the show, and hundreds strictly for the title role. We knew we were looking for a purple unicorn. That somehow this beautiful, extraordinarily talented boy found his way to us against all odds is beyond thrilling.”
